The Story So Far: What Do We Know?

After Juliet exploded the hydrogen bomb, the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 appear to be back in the present day but they are still on the island and not, as they had hoped, at LAX.

Oh, that’s the wrong story.

Okay. Gina starts a blog that she expects to feature her thoughts, humor, and random screeds. One posting—a live shot from the Being & Nothingness Cam—kidnaps her blog and she sees no exit.

We’re waiting for Project members to submit brief biography’s about one another. Personality quirks guaranteed. A group of 5 make up the members of the Being & Nothingness Cam Project:

Camera Team members Sia, Tom, and Phaye. They all have strong backgrounds in philosophy
and coffee (but only Sia smokes and no one has berets);

Information Technology guy Dirk;

Project manager Gina. Gina is loosely based on Gina, but should not be mistaken for Gina.

The heart of the project is the B&N cameras, which are placed in locations and/or states of being inspired by philosopher and moralist Jean-Paul Sartre’s principle beliefs that existence precedes experience, and that there can be such a thing as nothingness. No! Don’t leave! It’s not boring!

Due to technical and existential problems, day to day life at the Project has been unpredictable. B&N Cam tentative locations and their apparent random interactions allows for rambling discussions among the staff in the poorly lit break room. There is no unbridled joy.

Why philosophy? Good question. Don’t know.

The Sartre Society has served the Project a Cease and Desist Order and sent a Cease and Desist Letter claiming that they have the corner on the Being & Nothingness Cam. So far Gina has ignored them.

No one is in love.

Gina is having ongoing prairie dog concerns.

Coming up: the origin of the Project, its goals, and why Project members were hired. The location and nature of the Project headquarters. What the deal is with the cameras. Blah blah punctuated by blah.

Oh. Suggestions welcome.
